The Company:
Our client, a well known translation company is currently looking to recruit an in-house translator fluent in English as well as Danish, Swedish, Finnish or Norwegian to join their offices in Hampshire.
The Role:
The role entails providing technical, commercial, IT and legal translations and proof-readings. You will only translate into your mother-tongue from various languages that you have studied academically. You will be using dictionaries, subject-specific glossaries, the internet, computer tools and software programs to fulfil the job to the best of your ability.
-Delivering high quality translations and exceeding clients' expectations
-Proof-reading own translation and conducting spell-checks
-Completing tasks independently
-Working closely with your Translation Manager and project teams
-Managing terminology effectively
-Reviewing the translation of other in-house and external translators
-Actively contributing to improvement of systems and procedures
Candidate Profile:
Candidates MUST have at least 6-12 months experience in translation or localisation industries.
-Must be native level in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian or Finnish along with fluency in spoken and written English.
-Be a team player and be able to develop good relationships with your colleagues.
-Masters degree in Translation or Languages along with an exposure to Translation Memory Tools.
-Be computer literate.
Due to location candidates need a car.
Salary/Additional Information:
The salary for this position is between £17,000 and £30,000 depending on skills and experience. 20 days holidays rising to 25 after 5 years of service. 37.5 hour week Monday to Friday plus paid overtime.
