The Company:
Our client, a well known translation company is currently recruiting for a Scandinavian Translation Project Manager fluent in English as well as one of the following languages: Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish. The successful candidate will join their offices in Hampshire.
The Role:
The main responsibility of this role is to manage Nordic translation and localisation projects.
-Responding to clients' queries by E-mail or phone in regards to new projects
-Receiving and assessing source files from the client
-Quoting delivery dates and times
-Selecting translators for the work based on academic qualifications and experience
-Confirming acceptance, schedule, payment rate and volume of translations with the client
-Handling translator queries
-Informing the client of any problems
-Checking translated files for completeness and correct format
-Updating the server file archives
Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will have a Masters degree in translation or languages involving at least one Scandinavian languages (Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish or Danish). The applicant is likely to have at least 2 years project management experience from a similar role typically involving a wide range of administrative, commercial, linguistic and technical aspects of the job. Good communication skills are fundamental and so is at least a basic knowledge of the following applications:
-MS Office
-TRADOS workbench, TagEditor, WinAlign, MultiTerm (high proficiency required)
-SDLX Translation Suite
-Adobe Acrobat, FrameMaker, PageMaker and InDesign
Due to location candidates need a car.
Salary/Additional Information:
The salary for this position is between £17,000 and £30,000 depending on skills and experience. 20 days holidays rising to 25 after 5 years of service. 37.5 hour week Monday to Friday plus paid overtime.
