Our client is currently seeking an experienced Technical Specialist Supervisor in the field of electronics, to be based in the company's offices in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK.



The successful candidate will enhance the capabilities of the Customer Technical Support Team and will compliment the company's aims to support the Electronic Design Engineering (EDE) customer segment, central to the group strategy.



Main duties within this role will include: providing second-tier technical support to customers in Eastern Europe and other regions; responding to queries by telephone, e-mail or live e-commerce channels; providing support in a specific area of electronic component technology, providing training for front line technical teams or sales teams within your area of expertise; further duties as required. An excellent training and development programme will include regular on-site presentations by component manufacturers and a further 10 days per year off-site training where there will be the opportunity for international travel. Every effort is made to ensure your specialist technical knowledge is kept up to date to enable you to provide the best technical advice in the industry.



To be considered for this role, you must be fluent in English and at least one Eastern European language (ideally Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian; though Russian, Slovenian, Bulgarian & Romanian will be considered), and hold a qualification equivalent to a degree in Electronic Engineering. You must have previous experience of electronic design work or supporting design engineers as an applications engineer and have experience or a desire to specialise in discrete semiconductors and optoelectronic components. Ideally, you will have experience of creating bills of materials for original designs. Experience of supervising a team of engineers would be a further advantage. You must be willing to relocate to Leeds on a permanent basis if not already based within commutable distance.
