Graduate Buying Opportunities

Head Office, Wimbledon, South West London, UK

Salary starting at £33,000 pa with potential to earn up to £53,000 pa, plus benefits.

Our Buying department, based in our Head Office in Wimbledon is responsible for ensuring the best possible range of products is sourced at the most competitive prices for our network of stores throughout the UK.

You will spend time working in a store and Regional Distribution Centre to familiarise yourself with our full product range and gain an understanding of our business operations.

You will then join the Buying Team in Head Office where you will shadow a Senior Buying Manager to learn the skills you will need to succeed. Your training will cover all aspects of category management including range reviews, retail price positioning, product development & design and quality control as well as management of supplier relationships, sourcing of new suppliers and contract negotiation. You will be liaising with other members of the buying team, other departments and suppliers both in the UK and across Europe.

We are looking for individuals who are fluent in both English and German, are highly motivated and thrive on working in a fast paced office environment.

You will be dynamic with real entrepreneurial flair and will want to be involved in high level negotiations and ultimately, taking decisions that will impact directly on the success of each and every Lidl store in the UK.

You will be able to use your judgement to make quick decisions, will be an effective communicator and leading from the front, you will be able to easily adapt to the ever-changing environment.

You will possess a minimum of 2:1 ideally in a Business Management or German Language degree and a full driving licence.
