Green Shoots of Recovery?
With LinkedIn and Broadbean reporting positive signs, should we be cautiously optimistic? If I am very much not mistaken, and I say this very cautiously but are we seeing notes of optimism from hiring analytics behemoths LinkedIn and Broadbean? LinkedIn has tentatively put it out there that Europe is showing signs of recovery and Broadbean have recently reported a 36% increase week on week increase in London based jobs being advertised. From our own perspective, we have had encouraging reports from clients who are slowly getting back into the swing of things with recruitment freezes thawing. We are looking at a trickle as opposed to a flood, but the slight shift in the narrative is certainly a sign to start reviewing your CV if you are currently looking for work.
Now is the time to get to grips with your CV and ensure it is updated on all jobboards that you have registered with you so you are at the top of the pile when employers start sourcing again. If you registered your CV with us 3 years ago and have not looked at it since, neither will your potential employer – some may not even look at it if it’s over 3 months old. If you’ve not changed employment or your situation hasn’t changed in that time, just make some minor amendments – add any new skills you may have learnt for example and this will ensure your CV comes up in any search that employers may run for recent CV’s.
