Our client, a world leader in Molecular diagnostics is currently looking for an IT Support Technician to join their Belgian office near the vibrant European capital city of Brussels.
The position is focused on 1st and 2nd Line deskside support for internal clients across two Belgian sites and across the EMEA region for remote support.
With a hardworking , dedicated and determined problem-solving attitude being essential in the position, you will use your excellent communications skills during extensive contact with internal customers.
*IS Helpdesk phone support ( on rotating basis)
*End-user computing support ( deskside and remote)
*Laptop/desktop imaging and preparation for end users.
*End user IS inductions and orientation.
*Hardware procurement, inventory, disposal support.
*Account Management advanced support.
*Assist with managing standard process/procedures.
*Work directly with vendors on installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance.
*Out of hours on call rota ( one weekend in every eight and occasionally on national holidays with additional pay on these days and with the possibility to work them from home)
Requirements and qualifications
*At least one significant professional experience in IS Helpdesk support either as an intern or in a full-time professional capacity.
*Windows 10/11 experience.
*Microsoft Office 2016/Office 365 or above experience.
*Mobile Device support experience.
*Laptop/Printer/Hardware and Peripherals advanced knowledge.
*General understanding of Networking and Wireless technologies.
*Active Directory/Microsoft Exchange experience.
*Desktop support tools advanced knowledge.
*Ability to triage , troubleshoot and resolve basic to complex end user computing problems quickly and accurately, contacting 3rd party suppliers when necessary.
*Excellent communications skills in English and knowledge of Dutch or Flemish is an advantage.
*Strong telephone and interpersonal skills with a real grasp of customer support and adapting to different levels of users across different departments.
*IT Service Management systems experience required ( ServiceNow experience is a plus)
*Documentation and knowledge base experience is beneficial.
*Project Management working knowledge.
*Ability to work assignments that are complex in nature, and require good judgement to resolve problems and make routine recommendations.
*Able to work collaboratively within a small-medium sized team within a large organisation, collaborating with teams in different countries.
*A driver's license and own vehicle for travel twice a month to one of our client's sites near Liège.
