Role and Responsibilities
Social media moderators are tasked with monitoring and managing social media accounts.
The responsibilities include:
- Monitoring Content: Spending the majority of the day viewing content, reading through comments, posts, and other user-generated content.
- Ensuring Compliance: Following predefined sets of rules established by platforms to protect users, maintain reputation, and ensure legal compliance.
- Content Review: Reviewing user-generated content to remove offensive, inappropriate, and harmful material before it becomes publicly visible.
Essential Skills
To excel as a social media moderator, the following skills are essential:
- Eye for Detail: Ability to spot issues or inappropriate content quickly.
- Strong Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication to engage with users and team members.
- Written Speech and Active Reading: Proficiency in written communication and the ability to read and comprehend large volumes of content.
- Fluency in English: Essential for understanding and moderating content accurately.
Social media moderation requires a combination of vigilance, adherence to guidelines, and strong communication skills to effectively manage and curate online communities.
Candidates must be fluent in Pashto and have a good level of English and have either an EU Passport OR Portuguese Residence Card.
*Please note this role requires relocation to Lisbon if not already there as it is an office based role in Lisbon.
