Hays is excited to be working in partnership with Hydeline who supply premium-quality reclining and fixed sofas in both leather and fabric to the UK market from its manufacturing facility in China and UK base in Milton Keynes. Its sister company in the US has been one of the leading suppliers to the major retailers in that market for the past 20 years. The UK turnover grew by almost 300% and 100% respectively over the past 2 years and it looks set to be well in excess of 200% again in 2018.
Hydeline sofas are considered to be the most comfortable and well-made in its sector with a host of innovative reclining technologies available. In addition to the UK, the European market will be targeted from January 2019, when they plan to show at one of Europe’s premier furniture events in Cologne, with a plan to expand further in 2020. Due to this continued business growth and success they are recruiting for a Container Manager (Bi-Lingual) to support their fast-growing business and to become an integral member of their team in Milton Keynes.
The Container Manager (Bi-Lingual) will work in a key area of business growth, to support and grow direct container sales through exceptional customer service and pro-active management. The successful candidate will also need to have experience of working within the supply chain, be conscientious and central in advancing the Company’s reputation for a professional and high-end customer service.
This is an interesting and varied role which requires the candidates to be responsible for all container customer accounts, accurately processing all orders for Direct Containers. Active management of all container lead times and load-ability, ensuring timely delivery of containers. You will also build and maintain records and profiles for high net worth accounts, monitoring freight suppliers’ performance and rates against agreed KPIs. Monitoring and reporting to management production and quality issues. Proactive resolution of customer queries and actively building upon and improving client working relationships. Liaising with their Far East suppliers, Customs and logistics companies to ensure a smooth supply chain and to ensure correct and timely delivery of goods. Other ad-hoc duties will be as and when required.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in a similar role, be commercially aware, self-motivated, have exceptional attention to detail, negotiation skills and be a team player. You will be highly organised and have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Bi-lingual in Mandarin (Chinese) and English with good oral and written skills is essential. Degree qualified 2:1 or above within a supply chain specialism is preferred but experience of working within the supply chain industry and within a customer-focused role is essential to be successful in this role.
In return Hydeline is offering a competitive salary £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience), Pension Scheme, 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and training where required. Working hours for this role will be 9. 00am –5. 30pm Monday to Friday.
