The role involves:
- Overseeing the shipping process, including customs clearance, domestic logistics for our European customers
- Requesting freight costs and negotiating terms
- Collating all documentation required for the shipping and logistics process
- Reviewing and approving invoices
- Building relationships with freight forwarders
- Translation of documentation from German to English
- Order entry into the key customers EDI system
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure our buyers have timely and accurate communication
- Providing general administrative support to the team
You must be able to demonstrate:
- German language skills – either mother tongue or business fluent
- Data processing skills with a passion for attention to detail
- Being organised, methodical and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Creative thinking with the ability to problem solve
- The ability to pick up new tasks quickly
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience working with in shipping or logistics would be an advantage
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
